๐ซThe strategies, approaches, and best practices have been rapidly shifting when it comes to teaching autistic children.
It can be hard to keep up with the most current and neurodiversity-affirming approaches, and even more difficult to get these changes implemented in the classroom or therapy setting at school.
You may see some of these strategies discussed on social media but would love an opportunity to dive deeper and learn more.
You care about making sure that your autistic students' social/emotional needs are met and you've probably already been seeking out ways to help you do that.
You are having conversations and discussions with your colleagues about these neurodiversity-affirming approaches, but aren't sure which professional development opportunities are truly geared to the preschool level.
Each time you discover a new strategy or resource you get super excited, but if youโre being really honestโฆ it takes A LOT of work (many times outside of your contract hours) to implement new strategies and train your support staff how to use them.
You want a way to make this happen that doesn't put so much preparation time on YOU! You want to simply learn together and then take action as a team!
You might find yourselfโฆ.
annoyed that professional development rarely applies directly to the early childhood level and never covers relevant topics relating to young autistic students.
frustrated with the lack of consistency among your team because most of the time paraprofessionals or other staff aren't able to attend the same training as you.
stuck using some of the same old strategies and approaches that may be outdated, because you can't find appropriate training opportunities that apply to the preschool level.
overwhelmed with the new strategies that you want to implement, but aren't quite sure how to get everyone on the same page to put them into action in the classroom
tired of trying to seek out new information about neurodiversity-affirming teaching strategies and then never putting them into place in the classroom or therapy room.
There has got to be a better way!
That's why I decided to put together the Preschool Autism Summit. It's about time that early childhood special education teachers, SLPs, and other related services at the preschool level are not left out of the picture!
I'm so thrilled to bring together a group of amazing speakers who understand the unique challenges of teaching at the early childhood/preschool level.
BY THE END OF THE SUMMIT YOU WILL...
โญ๏ธ feel confident in your ability to understand what it means to be neurodiversity-affirming.
โญ๏ธ have a better understanding of gestalt language processing, and how to meet the needs of your gestalt language processors in the classroom.
โญ๏ธ learn more about how to implement and effectively utilize AAC in the classroom.
โญ๏ธ provide your support staff/paraprofessionals with up-to-date strategies to support your autistic students at the early childhood level.
โญ๏ธ build a classroom that places compassion over compliance and utilizes strength-based approaches.
โญ๏ธ get rid of any outdated teaching methods and replace them with more current ones that can be implemented right away.
โญ๏ธ walk away with actionable tools and insights to enhance your teaching practices, promote meaningful engagement with your autistic students, and empower every child to thrive.
โญ๏ธ learn from 25 special educators, parents, psychologists, SLPs, and OTs who believe in neurodiversity-affirming strategies.

Preparing For Kindergarten: How To Help Make The Transition Successful
Hi, Iโm Tara Phillips!
I'm a speech/language pathologist who has worked with young autistic children for over 2 decades.
I founded Autism Little Learners in 2019 because it was difficult to find engaging resources for young autistic children. I've always loved learning new and innovative ways to help autistic children and their families.
In my decade at the early childhood level, I found out quickly that school districts professional development opportunities very rarely pertained to the unique challenges we face at the preschool level. Relevant training for teachers and therapists working with autistic children at the preschool level was nonexistent. I decided that it was time to change this, and now I'm bringing everything I learned to you in this 3-day event!
Grab your free ticket and join me and 20+ other ND-affirming therapists and educators for a one-of-a-kind event that will help you be part of the solution to creating a more compassionate and empowering educational experience for all autistic preschoolers.
